Benefactors

The continuing development and future success of the University of Cambridge relies largely on the support it receives in the form of donations from individuals, corporations, charitable trusts and foundations. Visit the Cambridge Judge Business School alumni website for further information about supporting the School.

Cambridge Judge Business School is a perfect example of how the generosity of supporters of the University, both large and small, has facilitated a department to maintain its position at the forefront of research and education, not only at the present but also providing the opportunity to continue this tradition well into the next century.

Cambridge Judge Business School is very grateful to everyone who has contributed to their appeal. Major benefactors to the School include:

Sir Paul and Lady Judge

A benefaction of £8 million in 1990 by Sir Paul and Lady Judge facilitated the redevelopment of the Old Addenbrooke's Hospital site in the centre of Cambridge for the School. In recognition of their generosity, the School bears their name.

The Monument Trust

A donation of £5 million from Mr Simon Sainsbury in 1991 helped to fund the development of the new building.

Peter and Paula Beckwith

In 1991, Peter and Paula Beckwith donated £5 million to the University of Cambridge, which included establishing the Beckwith Professorship of Management Studies.

The Sinyi Foundation

In 1996, The Sinyi Foundation donated £1.5 million to endow the Sinyi Professorship of Chinese Management.

Dr Dennis B. Gillings

£2 million was donated by Dr Gillings in 1997 to endow the Dennis Gillings Professorship of Health Management.

The Margaret Thatcher Foundation

The Margaret Thatcher Professorship of Enterprise Studies was endowed in 1997, following the gift of £2 million from the Margaret Thatcher Foundation.

KPMG/Peat Marwick

Peat Marwick pledged £75,000 a year for 10 years to establish what is now known as the KPMG Professorship of Management Studies in 1986.

Diageo/Guinness

In 1990, a pledge was made by Guinness plc, of £1,530,000 over 10 years, to establish the Guinness Professorship of Management Studies, now known as the Diageo Professorship of Management Studies.

Future benefactions

Many gift opportunities exist, from a single major benefaction to endow the School in perpetuity, to modest, though important, benefactions for specific projects. Find out more on the University of Cambridge's 800th Anniversary Campaign website »
