The mission of the Wo+Men’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) is to serve as a platform in forging and leading collaborations with different stakeholders (e.g. academic, corporate, professional, not-for-profit and government) in making the changes needed to foster a gender-balanced workforce globally.

Our goal is to become a hub for global thought leadership in the area of gender and leadership. We aim to foster the next generation of women leaders so that businesses will no longer be constrained by a limited pool of women with requisite leadership skills. We will use our research skills, in collaboration with students, corporations and policy makers, to create the cultures, institutions and organisations that will allow more women to develop the capabilities to succeed in corporate leadership. By bringing these groups more closely together we can better disseminate our findings, benefit from the practical advice that each party has to offer and create the forums which takes ideas from the drawing board to the boardroom.

and create the forums which takes ideas from the drawing board to the board room.

We will use our resources to achieve this objective in the following ways:

  • Researching the challenges to developing women leaders and offering practical solutions.
  • Transplanting our findings into a series of innovative programmes and workshops aimed at both prospective female leaders and employers.
  • Creating forums and networks through which these ideas and solutions can not only be developed but also sustained and improved over the longer term.

Our goal is to achieve an impact across a wide range of corporate sectors, both profit and non-profit, and to take the initiative to a number of different countries.

The 2017 Wo+Men's Leadership Initiative conference will take place on 10 June 2017.
