Travel awards & bursaries

The Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship's travel awards and bursaries are designed to assist with the costs of travel and accommodation associated with the programme's residential sessions. Up to £2,000 may be awarded to candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Academic excellence: candidates must meet and should exceed all academic entry requirements for the programme.
  • Entrepreneurial potential and ambition: candidates should clearly be able to demonstrate their entrepreneurial qualities and share future entrepreneurial plans including their Enterprise Project highlighting the impact of these plans.
  • Financial need: candidates should present a clear case for requiring financial support for their studies on the programme.

Candidates wishing to apply for a travel award or bursary should put forward their case for support by highlighting their entrepreneurial potential and ambition and listing their financial need in no more than 1,000 words in a letter to Mrs Nicky Reynolds, Programme and Admissions Manager for the Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship, alongside their full and completed application for the programme by the application deadline of 30 April 2017.

Additional information

Applications for travel awards and bursaries will be reviewed by the Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship Bursary Committee who may choose to interview candidates. Decisions made by the Committee on the number and value of travel awards and bursaries for 2017 entry are final.

Travel awards and bursaries will only be awarded to candidates admitted to the Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship and candidates will be notified of the outcome of their application for a travel award or bursary alongside the outcome of admission to the programme, normally in June of the year of entry.

Candidates are responsible for payment of the remainder of their programme fees and costs relating to their attendance at the first residential session. To accept both a programme offer and a travel award or bursary, candidates must pay the reservation fee in full by 1 July 2017 and the balance of fees by 12 August 2017.

Should a candidate who has been awarded a travel award or bursary decide not to accept their offer of a place on the programme after reservation fees are paid, they will no longer be entitled to the travel award or bursary.

Travel awards and bursaries will be paid in April 2018 to cover travel and accommodation costs incurred during their stay in Cambridge for the residential sessions and will only be paid once satisfactory performance on the programme has been achieved in Courses 1 and 2. We will request the submission of receipts for travel and accommodation.

Recipients of travel awards or bursaries who later withdraw from or who do not successfully complete the programme to achieve their Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship will be liable for repayment of their travel award or bursary.
