Professional experience

Dr Menezes is a research associate at Cambridge Judge Business School and has more than 10 years of experience lecturing and designing course materials for undergraduate and graduate courses and working as principal investigator on several funded projects. He has worked in partnership with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) from Australia on a project which seeks to help improve the standards of achievement in NSW schools and therefore the quality of the educational testing in Australia.

Previous appointments

Dr Menezes worked for years as an adjunct professor of Psychometrics and Quantitative Methods in the Institute of Psychology at the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil), where he still coordinates the Quantitative Methods and Predictive Psychometrics Laboratory.

Awards & honours

In 2013, the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES, Ministry of Education, Brazil), granted Dr Menezes a sabbatical fellowship to spend one year as an academic visitor in the Psychometrics Centre, University of Cambridge. In 2014, The Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development awarded him a fellowship for research productivity.

Organisational behaviour; educational assessment; large-scale assessments and big data; psychometrics; quantitative methods; machine learning; item response theory (IRT); computerised adaptive testing (MCAT); statistical programming in R.
