Business Information Centre

Location
The Information Centre is located on the ground floor of the business school to the left of reception. The lower floor houses the main staff desk, our book collections and Bloomberg terminals, while the first, or Mezzanine, floor offers many study desks, and our printed journal collections.
Hours
We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to JBS members.
Access
We provide access to non-JBS members as follows:
- University of Cambridge students, staff and faculty
- International academic staff and PhD students (reference only)
- Alumni of JBS (reference only)
at these times: during term – 08:45-18:00, out of term – 09:00-17:00

Admissions Policy
Our information and library service primarily serves current students, staff and faculty of Cambridge Judge Business School. However we also admit all University of Cambridge students, staff and faculty, specifically to use electronic and printed resources not found elsewhere in the University. If you have not visited the Business Information Centre before, please contact us in advance of your visit in order to explain what resources you will need to access. When you first visit please report to the Desk for registration for which you will require your University card and email address.
We also admit:
- International academic staff and PhD students on a reference-only basis, provided proof of identity and academic status is provided.
- Alumni of Cambridge Judge Business School, who, due to the constraints of our database contracts, can only access our printed resources (with the exception of EBSCO Business Source Alumni, which is available through the Alumni website).
In exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Information & Library Services Manager, access is occasionally permitted to users who do not fall into the above categories. The Information & Library Services Team reserves the right to refuse or rescind borrowing privileges at any time.

Borrowing
Items can be borrowed from the staff desk or via the self-service terminal. JBS members can check out 10 books at any one time (staff and PhDs can take 20). Non-JBS users can borrow up to 5 one-week loan items at any one time. Fines are 50p per day for all users.
IT Facilities
IT facilities in the Information Centre include: public terminals which give access to our blog, the Library Catalogue and the financial databases Datastream and SDC Platinum; a number of PCs with Microsoft Office/internet which are for the use of JBS members only; and four twin-screen Bloomberg terminals which offer global news and financial and economic data. There are also two multi-function devices for printing, photocopying and scanning.
LCD Screens
Check out our two plasma screens in and outside the Information Centre which advertise our many services and resources.
Printed Collections
We hold 12,000 books in our collection and back-runs of over 50 journals. We also maintain collections of careers materials, market research reports, theses and reference items. Current journal issues are also on display.
Film and TV DVD Collection
We also now offer a growing collection of films and TV series on DVD.
