The i2i concept

Reuse of learning materials can reduce the cost of course development, and it can also improve the quality of the course by disseminating innovative techniques.
MIT's Engineering Systems Learning Center coined the term "i2i" for instructor-to-instructor exchange. This concept embodies "communities of practice" among instructors, with support in the areas of learning principles, the management of intellectual property rights, peer feedback and similar matters.
i2i is an area of activity that is complementary with, and distinct from, electronic learning systems, course management systems, and long-term archival systems.
The KRN project is adapting MIT's i2i concept, and applying it to communities of practice centered around the topics addressed by the 6 CMI-sponsored M.Phil. courses.
