The KRN Summer Workshop September 2005

Innovations in Pedagogy and the Reuse of Electronic Learning Materials:

Enabling Communities of Practice

This was the third KRN conference and the focus was on the enablement of 'Communities of Practice'.

It was held on the 23rd September 2005 from 9:00am to 4:30pm at the Open University Business School, Milton Keynes..

A broad and still expanding spectrum of electronic learning materials is currently in use in universities, industry and other settings. These materials have the potential to transform education, but there are countless ways that reality may end up falling short of this potential. The overall aim of this conference was to join in the effort to codify the current state of the art and to identify new frontiers for the distribution and use of innovative learning materials. We have the following goals:

  • Identify Enablers and Barriers in the Reuse of Electronic Learning Materials
  • Link Innovations in Reuse with Communities of Practice
