The University of Cambridge
Cambridge Judge Business School is a part of the University of Cambridge, one of the oldest universities in the world and one of the largest in the United Kingdom. Its reputation for outstanding academic achievement is known worldwide and reflects the intellectual achievement of its students, as well as the world-class original research carried out by the staff of the University and the Colleges. The collegiate structure gives a strong sense of community within the University, and adds to the personalised approach to teaching that's also a tenet of Cambridge Judge Business School's ethos.
Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL)
Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL), part of Cambridge Judge Business School, aims to spread the spirit of enterprise to the University of Cambridge and beyond by delivering a range of educational activities to inspire and build skills in the practise of entrepreneurship. The Centre collaborates with over 200 experienced entrepreneurs, innovators and other practitioners to provide relevant, credible and practical training.
Enterprise Tuesday is a series of free evening lectures and networking sessions open to all students, Cambridge University staff and members of the local business community during the Michaelmas and Lent terms. CfEL's Ignite programme has been developed to fast-track a business idea or innovation to commercial success and is offered to both individual and corporate clients from the high-technology sectors. CfEL also manages the delivery of the Enterprisers programme for young individuals from any background or discipline interested in developing an entrepreneurial project.
Cambridge Enterprise
Cambridge Enterprise helps university inventors, innovators and entrepreneurs to commercialise their ideas and business concepts more effectively. Its principle activities are intellectual property management, licensing, new business venture support and investment and consultancy. Any student or staff member of the university who has a business idea can contact Cambridge Enterprise.
Additionally, Cambridge Enterprise together with the Corporate Liaison Office regularly hold showcasing events to raise awareness of the University's strengths in science and technology. Attendees include academics, the funding community and corporates.
Cambridge Network
The Cambridge Network aims to create and support a community of like-minded people from business and academia in the Cambridge region and link this community to the global high-tech network for the benefit of the Cambridge region.
Cambridge University Entrepreneurs (CUE)
Cambridge University Entrepreneurs is a student-run society launched in 1999 to inspire and educate, and to facilitate the creation of real businesses from the university. CUE runs a £1K Business Plan Competition and a £50K Business Creation Competition annually. This competition is one of the largest of its type in the world and our students have regularly been members of successful teams.
Cambridge science parks and the business community
Cambridge is host to Europe's largest concentration of high-tech firms and the centre of a dramatic development of entrepreneurial
activity. Around 1,200 technology-based firms are located in the area, from young start-ups to giants like ARM and Microsoft. Initiatives such as the Cambridge Science Park and St John's Innovation Centre are outstanding examples of the vibrancy of the Cambridge business community.
