Employer Support
An Executive MBA programme adds significant value both to you as an individual and to the organisation that employs you. That's why many employers choose to support their Executive MBA participants. However, even if you're not sponsored you'll need to secure your employer's understanding and support.
Therefore, in preparing to join an Executive MBA programme one of your priorities will be to seek support from your employer, possibly financial support, but definitely the support to allow you to commit the time required. You'll need to demonstrate how your employer will benefit from you gaining an MBA. You'll need to draw up a careful business case. This is where we can help.
You may want to break down your research and planning into three areas:
Know your company
Has it sponsored any degree level qualifications previously? Have senior managers taken an Executive MBA or similar course in the past? Who are the key decision makers within your organisation for management development? What are the challenges facing your company over the next months/ years - how can you use the knowledge gained during the programme to help your employer during this time?Know your chosen programme
Why is the Cambridge Executive MBA right for you? How do you expect to benefit from the programme? How will the Cambridge reputation add value to your career and your organisation? Are there any modules/elements of the course that are of particular value to you/ your career?Know yourself
Why is this the right time for you to start an Executive MBA? How will taking the course improve and extend your management and leadership skills? How will you balance work, study and other aspects of your life? If your employer is unable to offer you full sponsorship are you in a position to finance the programme through other means?
