University of Cambridge employee sponsorship

As a business school we want to be able to share our knowledge of good business practices with the wider university. In 2008 an opportunity arose that allowed us to do this. With the start of the Executive MBA we finally had a programme that would allow us to share our knowledge with an individual who could then use what they learned to add immediate benefit within their department of the University.

Eligibility

The scholarship is open to anyone holding a senior management position within the University and who has a permanent employment contract at the University of Cambridge or one of the colleges. The successful applicant must have the full support of their department to attend the programme. The deadline for applications for the University of Cambridge employee scholarship is 26 April.

Sadly we are unable to offer the scholarship to anyone on a temporary, fixed term or research contract.

Who should apply

Admissions for the Cambridge Executive MBA are highly competitive and any University applicant must also be of a high standard in order to be considered for a place on the programme. A candidate must therefore meet the minimum entry requirements for the programme and be in a senior position within the University to apply.

How to apply

The University of Cambridge employee sponsorship scholarship is awarded to one University employee a year who demonstrates that they can make an exceptional contribution to the programme and to the University. Please email this essay to us with the subject “University employee sponsorship scholarship essay” after you have submitted your application and no later than 26 April 2017. This scholarship will be awarded within two weeks of this deadline.

Please note that you will not be eligible for the needs-based or Director’s bursaries if you are awarded this scholarship and must pay the 15 per cent reservation fee to secure your place on the programme as per the conditions of the offer.

The EMBA was more than I could have hoped for. It challenged, inspired, expanded my horizons, and was so immediately relevant to my job that it added huge value; and, despite the hours of hard work, it energised me. Without a doubt it has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.
