Teaching Faculty and Their Research Interests
The faculty of Cambridge Judge Business School is young, energetic and international. Our teachers inspire through their domain knowledge as well as their diverse cultural backgrounds. We practice an informal and collegiate communication style; many faculty keep in touch with students long after the programme.
Research interests of faculty involved in the Operations and Marketing pathways include marketing and operations strategy, innovation and technology management, risk and project management, supply chains, pricing and revenue management, decision-making, consumer behaviour, psychology and behavioural economics. Industry expertise includes health care, energy, IT and telecoms, automotive and aerospace.

|---|---|
| Jane Davies | Operations-finance interface, flexible operations, clean energy. |
| Matthias Holweg | Matthias's research focuses on operations and supply chain management. He is particularly interested in working with students on research questions related to flexible manufacturing, supply chain management and process improvement methodologies (such as lean thinking or six sigma). Matthias has a particular interest in the automotive and aerospace industries, as well as the health care sector. |
| Houyuan Jiang | Houyuan's principal research interests lie in revenue management, stochastic modelling, and game-theoretic modelling with applications in the aviation, healthcare and service sectors. He is currently particularly interested in robust optimisation techniques to address issues of incomplete information about uncertainty in the areas of revenue management, supply chain management, and hub location. |
| Paul Kattuman | Paul is broadly interested in applications of statistical, micro-econometric and economic analysis to issues related to management. He has specific interests in online market organisation and the software industry. He has also an interest in system dynamics modelling. |
| Stelios Kavadias | Stelios Kavadias is a Professor of Operations Management at Cambridge Judge Business School, and his research focuses on the innovation process within companies as well as on the organisational antecedents that make innovation possible. In particular he is exploring the challenges associated with the innovation strategy implementation through the "right" project prioritisation and selection, and the implications for resource investment and allocation decisions, and project execution. In parallel, he is looking into the effects of different organisational design on the effectiveness of innovation decisions, and whether decentralised decision structures are better or worse in executing innovation. |
| Dominique Lauga | Dominique's research interests are in marketing strategy and behavioural economics. In particular, her research focuses on analytical modelling of strategic decisions by firms, such as new product development and advertising. |
| Benn Lawson | Supply chain strategy. |
| Eric Levy | Eric's research interests lie in consumer behaviour and psychology. Specific interests include self-concept and social identity; moral identity; ego/self-esteem threat; social comparison; charitable giving; materialism; interpersonal relationships; time and money effects. |
| Christoph Loch | Christoph H. Loch is Professor of Management Studies and serves as the Director of Cambridge Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, UK. His research revolves around the management of R&D and the product innovation process, particularly technology strategy, strategy cascading, project selection, concurrent engineering, project management under high uncertainty, collaborative problem solving, and performance measurement. He also examines the motivation of professional personnel in organisations (such as R&D organisations), in particular, the emotional aspects of motivation and performance. |
| Vincent Mak | Marketing, behavioural game theory. |
| Nektarious Oraiopoulos | New product development and project management. |
| Jaideep Prabhu | Jaideep's research interests are in marketing, innovation, strategy and international business. In particular, he studies various cross-national issues concerning the antecedents and consequences of radical innovation in high-technology contexts such as e-commerce, banking, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. His most recent research is on the role of firm culture in driving innovation in firms across nations. This research also examines how multinational firms organize their innovation activities worldwide, the forces that drive their R&D location decisions and the factors that influence the performance implications of these decisions. His current research is mainly on how multinationals are using emerging markets like India as a lab to do affordable and sustainable innovation for global application. |
| Danny Ralph | Danny is interested in equilibrium models particularly in bilevel optimisation; the broad area of energy modelling with a focus on electricity markets; and topics which combine optimisation and games in investment planning and more generally, decision making under uncertainty. |
| Stefan Scholtes | Stefan's research is focused on the health care industry, specifically hospital management, local health ecosystems, and innovation. |
| Chander Velu | Chander works in the fields of marketing science and innovation. His research focuses on marketing strategy, the economics of innovation, network economics and information management.
