Direct Admission to the PhD Programme

Please note that applications for entry in 2013 have now closed. Applications for entry in October 2014 will open on 1 September 2013.

The normal route to a PhD at Cambridge Judge Business School is via one of the following research MPhils:

Candidates who have completed another research Masters degree will only be admitted in exceptional circumstances; your research Masters degree must be from a leading business school and there must be clear evidence that the research training you have received is equivalent to achieving a 70% grade on one of our research MPhils.

Additionally, a Cambridge Judge Business School subject group must support your application and programme of research. The final decision rests with the School's PhD Admissions Committee.

Please note, the direct entry route is not available for students wishing to join the Finance & Accounting subject group; completing the MPhil in Finance is a necessary prerequisite.

The first year of the PhD is probationary. Continuation depends upon satisfactory academic performance in this first year.
