Biography
Mr Erdogdu received his BSc in International Relations (with high honours) from Middle East Technical University (Turkey) in 2002. He then began to work for the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) of Turkey, a public regulatory body that regulates a total of a circa $60 billion Turkish energy (electricity, natural gas, oil and LPG) market. In 2004, he was awarded a British Chevening Scholarship for his MSc studies. He received an MSc degree in Energy Economics and Policy (with Distinction) from University of Surrey (UK) in 2004. Until coming to Cambridge, he continued to work as an Energy Expert in EMRA. Mr Erdogdu has been awarded a full scholarship by Cambridge Overseas Trust that finances all costs during his PhD studies in Cambridge.
Research interests
Energy markets (especially electricity and natural gas industries); energy policy; energy economics; regulation; privatisation; liberalisation and competition in the network industries; efficiency in electricity and natural gas utilities; Turkish energy policy; econometric analysis (demand forecast, time series and panel data analysis).
