Biography

William Y.P. is currently a doctoral researcher in Energy and Environment Research Group based in Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. He is also a member of the Electricity Policy Research Group (EPRG), which was awarded £2.38m from the UK Research Councils under their programme Towards a Sustainable Energy Economy (TSEC) (2005 - 2010).

Before coming to Cambridge, William has published in the marketing discipline and taught business courses at the City University of Hong Kong and MBA courses of Deakin University, Australia at the VTC HK. He has an Executive MBA from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management. He spent seven years working for two US multinationals (Fortune 500), reaching an executive position.

William Yu is currently a member of Hughes Hall and assisting on Cambridge's undergraduate (supervision) and MBA courses (teaching assistant), and Centre for Business Research (CBR) (research assistant) on a part-time basis.

He also supervised MBA projects on Green Building Practice in the UK and Japan. William also acts as an ad hoc reviewer for energy journals on climate and renewable energy, water and food security articles. He has been recently involved in organising a climate change conference in Cambridge and has maintained strong connections with different climate institutions in the UK such as the Carbon Trust, Cambridge Centre for Climate Change Mitigation Research and Cambridge Carbon Footprint.

Benchmarking electricity distribution and transmission utilities performances; policy and regulation; liberalisation in the electricity industry; energy efficiency; renewable energy solutions; climate change and carbon footprinting; green marketing and sustainable consumption; enterprise-based solutions to poverty.
