The MPhil in Innovation, Strategy & Organisation (ISO) is an integral part of the route to a PhD via the PhD pathway of the same name.
The ISO masters programme has been designed for students wishing to build substantive and methodological knowledge in the areas of innovation, strategy and organisation and its application to the interdisciplinary study of organisations. It is oriented to those wishing to prepare for a career in academic research. You can choose either a qualitative or a quantitative stream to pursue research in the ISO domain.
There are a number of scholarships available to MPhil ISO students, ranging from ESRC scholarships, University of Cambridge and College scholarships, to corporate research funding. Find out more
Continuation to the PhD is regulated through a PhD admissions process during the MPhil year, which includes an interview, and is subject to your performance on the MPhil programme.
I regard the MPhil in Innovation, Strategy & Organisation as an invaluable first step in my research career. The ISO programme provided me with a rigorous grounding in a range of disciplines, which really assisted the transition from my first degree in psychology to the multidisciplinary management environment of Cambridge Judge Business School. The faculty place a strong emphasis on rigour and imagination, and my work became far more creative as a result.
Following the ISO programme, I was successful in getting a highly competitive scholarship from St John's College to study for a PhD at Cambridge Judge Business School.
Admissions for entry in 2015/16 have now closed.
