Professional experience

Dr Olcott has extensive industry experience, with the Swire Group in Hong Kong and Japan, Shell International in London, and 15 years in investment banking with S.G. Warburg & Co. (later UBS). His roles included Chief Executive of UBS Asset Management, Japan; and Managing Director, Equity Capital Markets Group, UBS Warburg, Japan.

Previous appointments

Dr Olcott was Visiting Fellow, Policy Research Institute, Ministry of Finance, Japan, in 2004. He is Honorary Treasurer of the British Association of Japanese Studies.

Research interests

Organisations and organisational change; Japan; mergers and acquisitions and post-merger integration; impact of foreign ownership and control on Japanese organisations.
