Richard Barker

Professional experience

Dr Barker is Chairman of the Audit Committee at Cambridge University Press, and a member of the Academic Panel of the Accounting Standards Board. He is a former Research Fellow of the International Accounting Standards Board. He has worked for ICI (now AstraZeneca), where he qualified as a chartered management accountant. He has acted as a consultant to Thomson Reuters, held a Retained Speaker position at the CFA Institute, and taught widely on executive programmes across a range of industries.

Previous appointments

Dr Barker was Director of the Cambridge MBA from 2003-2008. He has been a Visiting Professor at Oxford University's Saïd Business School, and a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University and at INSEAD.
