Operations, Information & Technology Subject Group
About the group
The focus of the Operations, Information & Technology group concerns the management of operations within enterprises, and the role played by different forms of technology in supporting all internal and external activities of organisations. The subject group has three areas of specialisation:
- Operations management, which concerns the management of operations in both manufacturing and service sectors
- Information systems, which concerns the management and use of information and communication technologies
- Technology policy and management, which concerns the design and management of technology, and related policy issues

Industry engagement
The member of this group have worked closely in research and executive education for a number of organisations, including IBM, HP, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Coventry Building Society, Shell Exploration, the World Health Organization, Hewlett Packard, DMR Canada (Fujitsu Consulting), Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Addenbrookes Hospital and Papworth Hospital.
Publishing output
All members of the group are internationally cited and have editorial appointments in leading journals including MIS Quarterly, Journal of the Association of Information Systems, Information Systems Research, Information and Organization, Health Informatics Journal, Information Technology and People, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management and Innovations.
