Professional history

Ping Chen is in strategy development at Amazon Web Services (AWS) where he is in charge of data centre acquisition in the UK, including co-location sites, building and land leases. Before AWS, Ping spent 15 years in the telecoms industry. He was Strategy Manager at SK Telecom, helping the largest mobile operator in South Korea to expand its business globally. After his MBA, he joined GSMA as Business Manager to the Director General, then as Head of Programme, when he led a global campaign promoting roaming service usage. After GSMA, he joined Vodafone UK and worked on a number of M&A projects, and was in the core bidding team for Vodafone at the 2021 UK Spectrum Auction.

Ping earned his undergraduate degree at Peking University.

Society & charity work

Ping has been supporting education for the blind since his time at College. He is also a strong believer in technology for social good, and worked on several business cases in his companies and with startups eg to bring affordable mobile internet to Africa.
