Professional history

Veneta Nikolova has over 13 years of experience in financial services, working for leading investment banks and asset managers in New York and London. She is skilled in US stress testing, risk management, capital management and governance, equity research, and the origination of equity and equity-linked securities for large corporates.

Veneta is currently a Vice President in Central CCAR at Barclays in New York. Previously, she worked in CCAR and stress testing at HSBC and investment banking for Citigroup, and Bank of America, among other firms. 

Veneta holds graduate degrees in finance from Cambridge Judge Business School and business and economics journalism from Columbia University. She received her undergraduate degree in Economics and International Relations magna cum laude from Smith College. During her Smith junior year abroad, Veneta studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford.

Society & charity work

Throughout her career and education, Veneta has been an active participant in and has led a number of initiatives, including: diversity, alumni, women’s, fund-raising and more. In addition to serving on the CJBS Alumni Council, she sits on the International House of New York City Alumni Council and also volunteers through her employer and the Smith College Club of New York.

Veneta has travelled extensively around the world. Her interests include classical music, art, cinema, writing, and tennis.
