Vazgen Abgaryan


Vazgen is an Armenian national. He completed a BSc in Global Economics from Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University in 2009. After graduation Vazgen continued to study part-time and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Economics in August 2011. He speaks fluent Armenian, Russian and English.

Prior to joining the MFin, Vazgen held several positions at the leading investment bank of Armenia, Armenbrok, where his main responsibilities included equity funding attraction and relationship management with the company's foreign corporate clients. His final project at Armenbrok was establishing its international markets department and founding investor education centre the Armenbrok Business Academy.

After completing the MFin in 2012, Vazgen returned back to Armenia. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Nushikyan Association and Senior Lecturer at Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University.

Vazgen chose the MFin for its set of courses that offered a solid combination of finance theory and real world practice. It was a unique opportunity to receive a most modern Western education at the heart of an 800-year-old University, and to get to know some of the most reputable finance professionals holding executive positions in the City. Vazgen is sure that the MFin has played an important role in his career advancement by strengthening both hard and soft skills.
