Dr Michael O'Brien

World-class academics

"The MPhil in Technology Policy allowed me to build upon my background in energy science and gain new skills in policy analysis and communicating with policy makers. The flexibility of the programme enabled me to build up a broad foundation in economics, innovation management, and political economy while focusing on energy policy. These skills allowed me to take a step in my career from the laboratory into the Houses of Parliament. The world-class academics at the School allowed me to explore technology policy within a variety of contexts and from various perspectives. The international network of friends from that I built up still continues to provide career support and acts as a source of informed debate on all aspects of technology policy."
