Broadening perspectives

"Technology policy has a tremendous relevance to today's world. Technology, and the information revolution it enables, continues to fundamentally affect us all. Doing the MPhil broadened my horizons beyond the technology itself, and gave me the tools and confidence to tackle complex and uncertain situations in this new world. I continue to use the ideas in my consultancy work, relying on the principles taught and discussed at Cambridge. Perhaps most importantly to me, it demonstrated how, in a world of seemingly ever greater specialisation and narrower attention, some broader perspective is still absolutely critical."

Biography

Matt received a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, before joining the second cohort of MPhil in Technology Policy students. Another year at Cambridge was ideal in opening up new career opportunities, and in leading a scientific expedition to the Peruvian rainforests. He has now been working for a SME Consultancy for six years, undertaking and managing a range of projects for the UK Government and Public Sector.
