Cambridge Judge Entrepreneurship Centre has launched a new initiative for medical technology companies looking to join Accelerate Cambridge – the Medical Technology or MedTech Initiative. The aim is to provide entrepreneurs and ventures with structured support that is additional to the existing programme and tailored to the specific needs of those working and developing businesses in this sector.
The MedTech Initiative provides access to experienced industry professionals in the field with a proven track record of bringing medical technology to the market. It also provides knowledge of how health organisations work through medical professionals and NHS innovation experts. Connections to legal firms and other organisations provide help with regulatory issues. The MedTech Initiative also links participants to grant funding and investors.
We have a range of mentors available to work with entrepreneurs and ventures who are expert in the field of medical technology. They have industry experience of either bringing a product to market or experience and understanding of the NHS. Participants are supported with one-to-one sessions and lectures on specialised topics such as regulatory process, how to work with the NHS, clinical trials, and exporting medical devices. There is also an opportunity for companies at the scale-up stage to access specialised funding and support with manufacturing.
