The University of Cambridge is working in collaboration with Santander Universities and the Universities of East Anglia, Essex and Kent to deliver the Santander Universities Growth Accelerator (SUGA). SUGA brings together a collaborative and diverse set of regional entrepreneurs, educators, academics and professionals.
Who are we looking for?
The Santander Universities Growth Accelerator is an intensive programme aimed at businesses which are early-stage but ambitious to grow. You can be a single founder or already have a small team. There are up to three spaces for founders and senior management on SUGA allocated per venture. Each university selects a maximum of three ventures to join SUGA.
There is no specific sector which we are focused on, but applicants must have a connection to the University of Cambridge – please read the Terms and Conditions for further details.
If you would like feedback on your pitch deck prior to submitting it, please send it to [email protected] along with three time periods you would be available for a Skype/phone call to discuss it. We will do our best to accommodate you, but cannot guarantee feedback. The final possible day for receiving this support is 30 March 2019.
What you can expect
The Santander Universities Growth Accelerator is designed to provide training to ambitious entrepreneurs. It provides an overview of the major challenges startups face and deeper dives into specific topics relevant to high-growth startups.

Santander is playing an active role in supporting these training days, including being involved in one-to-one sessions with the ventures.
A total of 12 ventures participate in SUGA enabling the entrepreneurs to meet and network with similarly ambitious people from other universities.
Each venture accepted onto the programme receives a £3,000 grant. This is to be used to further develop the venture and cover the travel costs related to taking part in SUGA.
