Andrew Hatcher

Andrew Hatcher



Andrew is the Managing Director of The Applied Knowledge Network, a marketing and strategy consultancy that also develops physical and digital products.

Andrew has a long history of identifying, developing and managing innovation within corporate environments and notably created and implemented a comprehensive and international innovation management system while working for Reuters, the European media group. His career at Reuters culminated in a role as CEO of an Asian-based Internet trading corporate spin-out in Singapore, which he took through initial VC funding and on to a trade sale.

Andrew is an accomplished author of five books on subjects that include "inventuring", strategy, innovation and metrics, which demonstrate his extensive experience in the areas of business startup and growth and in the specialist areas of marketing, innovation management and corporate venturing.

With a personal corporate history that includes journalism, software development, venture investment, marketing and strategic sales. Andrew draws on a wealth of experience in all aspects of business management gained through working internationally, predominantly in the US and UK.

Andrew received both a bachelors in engineering and an MBA in international business from the University of London and is a Fellow of Cambridge Marketing Colleges. His specialties include strategy development, communication and implementation, innovation management and strategic marketing.

Colin Oakman



Colin is a management accountant who spent 10 years in the financial services industry, working for a mutual building society before spending the last 9 years in the software industry at Redgate Software Ltd as their CFO. 

Across both roles he's scaled & skilled up the finance teams, led on finance strategy and worked with the senior and executive management teams to deliver company strategy.

Most recently at Redgate, Colin's work has involved international expansion, corporate structure changes, software acquisitions alongside managing the many legal, financial and compliance challenges faced through periods of sustained growth.

Jo Winchcombe



Jo is a coach, mentor and facilitator working with individuals and teams to enhance personal performance and creativity, leading to increased productivity in all areas of business, and wellbeing in life.

Jo has over 10 years' experience as a senior marketeer in blue chip companies, working for M&S, Asda and Scottish & Newcastle Breweries. She successfully project-managed the launch of the George Davis clothing range into Asda Stores in the 1990s.

Jo founded and successfully ran a personalised printing business for 15 years, supplying name labels to customers of Tesco, Great Little Trading Company and Mothercare as well as direct to the public. Her specialties are marketing, business development, creative leadership, women in business, performance optimisation and problem solving.

Chris Thomas



Chris has significant experience in pharma, biotech and healthcare, and is an internationally recognised company director with a sustained record of achievement in global pharmaceuticals, healthcare technology and management consultancy. He was UK Sales and Marketing Director at AstraZeneca before joining Dendrite as Global Vice President, where his focus was on optimising commercialisation. 

Since 2002, he has provided commercialisation and management consultancy to global pharma as Marketing Partner (and currently Company Director) at Oxford PharmaGenesis, an internationally renowned HealthScience communication consultancy which was recognised by the Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2015. His expertise includes global launch excellence and strategic brand planning for more than 15 brands across a wide range of therapy areas, driving commercial excellence and new selling models, and providing management coaching on a one-to-one basis exclusively with CEOs and board directors.

Chris has practical hands-on experience in growing and shaping businesses of all sizes and at all stages – new or early ventures, SMEs or top 10 pharma – and supporting them in realising commercial opportunities and developing business models for scaleable growth to achieve maximum commercial success and shareholder value. 

Chris has experience in Europe, US, APAC and LATAM and is particularly interested in personalised medicine, genomics and wearables, encompassing access to doctors, access to medicines and advances in early diagnosis. His specialty is coaching in pharma, biotech, healthcare, wearables and healthcare technology.
