Professional Service Firms L&D event

Law Firm Learning and Development in the New Normal

Professional Service Firms L&D event

Live online session – 15 July 2020 – 10:00-12:00

In the pre-COVID-19 world, we saw the legal services market transform. New competitors, business models and client expectations rapidly emerged. Client relationships, firm reputation and sources of competitive advantage could change overnight. The pace of change was relentless and tangibly increasing. However, one constant was that the people at the heart of the law firms remained a critical asset, and their development was critical to attract and retain the best talent.

With the New Normal yet to full crystallise, law firms and their leaders are asking new questions. What is the impact of the pandemic on our client base? Are we in the right sectors? What are the implications of the world’s biggest trial of fully-remote working? Does our office footprint make sense? What tools does our talent need in the new environment and how do we retain and develop our talent effectively? Do we need to increase our technology investment? How does our leadership need to adapt?

We are delighted to invite you to an interactive, online event to explore how law firms can thrive in the New Normal. The session will be led by members of Cambridge Judge Business School’s Professional Services Group and cover the following topics:

  • Law firms in the New Normal – a look at the opportunities, threats and changes that emerge from COVID-19 for the law firm business model. This interactive session will be run by Matthew Jones and Dr Kishore Sengupta
  • The implications for law firm learning and development – a facilitated peer discussion where we connect the market context to some of the bigger questions for learning and development professionals
  • The appetite for online – the session finishes as we explore the balance between on and offline learning for law firms in the New Normal

Please register promptly – we are inviting only senior learning and development professionals to ensure high quality peer interaction, and places will be strictly limited. This event is free of charge.
