GAP Learning

GAP Learning CIC graduated from Cambridge Social Ventures in November 2015.

GAP Learning empowers vulnerable people to create beautiful products that last, have a meaning and can be sold.

GAP Learning CIC was created by two sisters with a desire to make a positive impact in their community via training and employment opportunities. GAP stands for generating alternative possibilities which means delivering a holistic provision to engage disadvantaged people in the community back into learning and in turn engaging with life.

GAP Learning delivers outreach projects including creative enterprise courses and healthy cooking courses as these are both practical subjects to use a vehicle to develop open communication and relationships. The training is free of charge to the learners making it accessible to low-income families. Our mission is to enable people to become financially independent.

GAP has an excellent reputation of partnership work and this has enabled a broad network of new projects and ability to reach those furthest from education. GAP Learning has created many progression routes for graduates including becoming tutors, makers and volunteers. She Loves Him Tho' is an ethical wedding company and Craftworks Rocks boxes (a charity box style project) were developed to generate income for the organisation whilst creating employment opportunities.

GAP Learning is little over a year old, but already every £1 in funding we receive is worth £118.
