Professional experience

Jakob has worked for multinational companies in the automotive and telecommunications sector and provided independent consulting services to various organisations on topics such as leadership, communication, or employee engagement.

Jakob's academic work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Organizational Behavior. Furthermore, Jakob is an ad hoc reviewer for Applied Psychology: An International Review and the Journal of Applied Social Psychology as well as a member of the Academy of Management.

Previous appointments

Prior to joining Cambridge Judge Business School, Jakob was a Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham and a Visiting Scholar at the Rotterdam School of Management.

Research interests

Leadership (especially the effectiveness of leader behaviours); the effects of complex emotional and nonverbal communication in various work settings; creativity and innovation at work; the effectiveness of HRM practices; the use of advanced quantitative research methods.
