Training produces employment growth in smaller companies that are also using other techniques such as total quality management, quality circles, job rotation and performance-related pay. That is the conclusion of a study of 1987 to 1995 by the Centre for Business Research at Cambridge University. The centre is now looking at the effects of training on other aspects of small business performance, including productivity and profitability, for example.
