As the Christmas shopping season is here Dotty McLeod investigates what is our relationship with money and looks at the new research on how monkeys interact with money. David De Cremer, KPMG Professor of Management Studies at Cambridge Judge Business School, said that money is “socialised at some extend – it associates certain ideas that are present in our society that’s why we act the way we do when it comes down to sales – we want to get a good value for the money, in other words we want to pay fair price.” Interestingly, monkeys in the experiment were not happy when they realised they were not treated fair.
