Ben Walsh looks at the pay inequality at the largest bond-fund manager in US, where the former top executives – Bill Gross and Mohamed El-Erian – received millions in bonuses in 2013. Raghavendra Rau, Sir Evelyn de Rothschild Professor of Finance at Cambridge Judge Business School, said ‘huge payouts at the top, combined with relatively flat pay at lower levels, give employees an incredible incentive to get into the top of the pay scale.’
