The Independent: Government can benefit from business’s expertise – but clear focus is required

 

I saw some research this week carried out jointly by the Cambridge Judge Business School over a seven-year period which turns on its head the idea that companies become vulnerable to a bid when accounting problems blow up. It seems the risk of what more nasties lurk beneath the surface outweighs the urge to snap up an asset on the cheap.

James Ashton investigates why it is difficult to switch from business into government, citing research co-authored by Dr Amir Amel-Zadeh, University Lecturer in Finance at Cambridge Judge Business School.
