2014 has been a successful year for the Cambridge Coding Academy (CCA), an Accelerate Cambridge start-up. The startup, launched by PhD students and research associates from the University of Cambridge, provides workshops where participants can learn how to programme by building a game. The first workshops in October 2014 proved to be so successful that the team now is planning to expand in the UK and internationally. Co-founder Raoul-Gabriel Urma said: “The plan is very much to go global. Computer devices control peoples’ lives everywhere in the world so we believe coding is a skill that everyone should learn.”
