India has economic momentum, but has disappointed many times in the past, says Simon Taylor, lecturer in finance and director of the Master of Finance programme at Cambridge Judge Business School. “ The election of a new government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi in May 2014 reflects the population’s frustration that the country seems to have gone backwards – so Modi’s attempts to attract more foreign investment and improve India as a place to do business are to be welcomed”, writes Simon.
