City AM: Why empowering all women is key to sustained change in the boardroom


“For a topic that attracts so much attention, there’s a surprising dearth of academic research into the rise of women to the boardroom, and particularly the conditions that enable (or inhibit) women’s progression globally,” writes Helena Morrissey CBE, chief executive of Newton Investment Management and founder of The 30% Club. A new study led by Professor Sucheta Nadkarni at Cambridge Judge Business School found that increasing the economic power of women throughout society is a key factor in women reaching and staying on corporate boards.
