CNBC: Climate action hurting competition: Ryanair CEO

Chris Hope, Reader in Policy Modelling at Cambridge Judge, responds to Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary who said that “environmental regulators are ultimately hurting business and trampling on European competition.” Chris Hope thinks it’s the opposite: “It makes countries which impose these taxes more competitive. With the added revenue, they can reduce other taxes. They can reduce income taxes or payroll taxes, and they have a choice. But it will stimulate economies,” he said.
