Financial Times: Climate talks mark turning point for investors

 

John Authers looks at the legacy of the COP21 Paris conference. Businesses are preparing to make a turning point for institutional investment. From now on investors will be asked to practise “active ownership” – in other words to take into account climate risks, not just purely financial risks. The study co-authored by Professor Elroy Dimson, Chairman of the Newton Centre for Endowment Asset Management at Cambridge’s Judge, found that “active ownership” campaigns work well. (subscription)
