Quartz: Banks have now resorted to hiring ex-soldiers to keep their staff in line


Banks are bringing in the big guns. That’s not exactly a metaphor. Recruiting from the armed forces reflects how the bank’s hiring process is changing, says Michael Roemer, the head of compliance at Barclays. “It’s less about experience and more about characteristics,” he said at a Trust in Banking conference in London held by Cambridge Judge Executive Education.
