Social Europe: What the Amish can teach us about technology

Christopher Markou, a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge, writes about the challenges technology will bring in the future and why we should look at Amish community before accepting any technological change: “If we want to think more expansively about how technology is reconfiguring entire societies, redefining the nature of work, and debasing the value of labour, we should look more seriously at how technological change might be better managed and look to the Amish.”
