Gender quotas in boardrooms is not the best way to retain women in senior positions, according to a new study led by Sucheta Nadkarni, Sinyi Professor of Chinese Management at Cambridge Judge Business School. The study looked at 1,071 companies across six continents and found a big disconnect between the number of women in the boardroom and those in other executive positions.
