Cambridge Business Magazine: Legal clients value law firms that straddle different areas of the law

 

Dr Lionel Paolella, University Lecturer in Strategy & Organisation, writes about “category spanning” – the provision of a range of distinct services – a practice that has long been frowned on by organisational experts. However his recent study of hundreds of law firms in New York, London and Paris over a decade has found that this generalised theory just doesn’t hold up when applied to corporate legal services.
