Ipswich Recovery Hub, supported by Cambridge Social Ventures at Cambridge Judge Business School, has opened a café and community centre in a former Ipswich pub. The Oak Café is an alcohol-free café and music venue and will have a short-stay accommodation for people recovering from addictions. Simon Aalders, director of the venture said: “We want the café to be a comfortable, relaxed and safe space for people to chat and enjoy themselves, and we have even created a child friendly area for families to relax and play in.”
