Academics from various British universities respond to the Autumn Statement by UK chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond. Michael Kitson, University Senior Lecturer in International Macroeconomics at Cambridge Judge Business School, said the statement was “a lost opportunity to implement a major transformation in the economy’s productive potential and capacity for innovation – which are the best ways of ensuring future prosperity for ‘hard-working families.’”
