Dean Christoph Loch offers some tough-love advice to small businesses and start-ups seeking to scale up. “One reason start-ups and other small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) have a hard time getting access to capital is that such firms are simply not transparent, and many are downright opaque,” he says.
