The MBA degree is not only for people in business, writes Helena Pozniak in The Guardian. For example, Cambridge Judge Business School has accepted a jazz drummer and semi-professional rugby player on the MBA programme this year. The MBA often is used to make a smooth transition to business from other sectors, but some Cambridge MBA graduates are planning to start their own companies: “Fifteen per cent of our class go on to start companies after an MBA and we’ve seen that increase in the past five years,” said Conrad Chua, Head of MBA Recruitment and Admissions at Cambridge Judge Business School. Big companies also value MBA graduates for their innovative mindset and training, he said. (print only).
