The Guardian: Never mind start-ups, it’s scale-ups that urgently need funding

Lucy Douglas writes about small businesses in the UK that could “generate 238,000 new jobs in a handful of years and an extra £38bn for the economy if boosted by just one per cent.” But these businesses need support in order to scale-up, says Barclays report co-authored at Cambridge Judge Business School. One of the co-authors Professor Stelios Kavadias says “money isn’t the real problem; start-ups need better guidance on how to grow strategically.”
