Wired: Fintech firms are taking on the one percent, but can they fix finance?

Investment is finally in the hands of the 99 per cent and with the help of apps and online management almost anyone can put their money to work, writes Nicole Kobie in Wired. By collecting information about the user fintech apps can offer easy way to invest money, but they need to think how to manage these data. Robert Wardrop, Executive Director of the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF), commented: “The big issue in financial services is information asymmetry. A lot of the fintech technologies coming in are disintermediating and in the process reducing that information asymmetry.”
