Robert Wardrop of the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF), based at Cambridge Judge Business School, discusses the future of cash machines. He thinks the use of cash machines will decline as smartphone digital wallets become more popular. “Some people still value the anonymity of cash. [Digitally] all your transactions are transparent, so those worried about a Big Brother world will push back against that,” Robert says.
