CCTV reports that the annual growth of China’s direct investment in the UK in 2016 was 58 per cent, amounting to $17 billion, with the top areas being real estate, energy and finance. Simon Learmount, Lecturer in Corporate Governance at Cambridge Judge Business School, said that Chinese investment “brings technological know-how” but it’s also about partnership and collaboration.
